Michael C. Sanders has over 20 years of experience litigating business, energy, and real estate disputes. Michael has handled cases from filing through trial and appeal.
Michael is Board Certified in Oil, Gas, and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has received Martindale Hubbell's highest peer review rating of AV. He has been named as a Super Lawyer in the area of Energy and Natural Resources Law every year since 2015.
Michael’s practice has consisted of handling a variety of commercial, energy, and real estate disputes and lawsuits. He has litigated cases involving breaches of contract, real estate, business torts, energy agreements (including oil & gas leases, joint operating agreements, exploration agreements, drilling contracts, and service contracts), mineral disputes (such as royalties, surface access, and title questions), purchase and sale agreements, partnership dissolution, employment disputes, non-competition agreements, construction, and commercial leases.
In addition to representing clients in lawsuits, Michael serves as an alternative dispute resolution provider. He completed both the mediation and arbitration training courses at the University of Houston's A.A. White Dispute Resolution Center and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Michael lives with his wife, Angie, and their three sons in Missouri City, Texas. Michael grew up in the Houston area and graduated from Klein Oak High School. After college in Dallas and law school in Austin, Michael returned to Houston and began practicing law.
